Plan a reshot intelligently

Select the work you actually want to redo and understand the estimate.

In this lesson

  • Review the selected saved takes
  • Distinguish retakes from future model changes

Inspect the selected work

Reshot starts with saved takes selected by default. Review that selection and deselect anything you want to keep. A broad reshot can be useful after a deliberate visual change, but replacing successful material accidentally adds cost and makes comparison harder.

State the purpose of the reshot: new performance, different staging or a coherent model change. Review the estimate for the selected work and settings before accepting. If the selection changes, the quote needs to reflect the new request. A loading estimate is not an accepted generation or permission to assume a price.

Understand what a model change affects

Changing the model for upcoming work applies to shots that have not yet started. It does not silently replace an already saved or started take. Select existing takes explicitly if you want new versions of them. Keep this distinction clear when some of a production has already finished.

A request that has already started may still incur a charge, even if you change your mind. Inspect the activity record rather than assuming cancellation immediately refunds everything. If an estimate or status appears stuck, preserve the production and request details and use Support; repeated acceptance can create separate work.

Keep the completed opening. Deselect its takes, select only the two dialogue shots, and request a more restrained performance with the same cast and location. Confirm the estimate reflects those two shots.

Put it into practice

Create a reshot plan listing takes to keep, takes to replace and settings for future work. Explain why each replacement is necessary.

  • Only intended retakes remain selected
  • You know which changes affect future shots versus existing takes
