Understand production stages and approvals

Follow the journey from story development through references, shots and the final cut.

Review the story before shooting

The production first establishes the script and scene plan. Read the action, dialogue, runtime and cast requirements while changes are still easy to make. Approval controls appear when Rush needs your decision to proceed. A paused or review-required stage may be waiting for you rather than failing.

References come before dependent shots

Cast, location, wardrobe and prop references establish what a scene should contain. A shot can wait while an essential reference is being prepared. Check the reference card named in the waiting message and review it when it becomes available. Approving an unsuitable reference can carry the same problem into several shots.

Review shots and the assembled result

Watch completed takes at normal speed, with sound. Confirm that the selected versions tell the story in order. Use a targeted correction for a single problem, and review the final cut again after changing a shot. Exporting creates a delivery file; publishing to Rush Watch requires separate approval.
