Check and deliver the final film
Make a deliberate final pass before downloading or publishing.

In this lesson
- Review the actual exported file
- Match delivery settings to the destination
Check the whole experience
Watch the assembled film from its opening frame to its ending. Check for missing shots, accidental repetitions, abrupt cuts, incorrect takes, clipped dialogue and a premature ending. Pay attention to the first and last second: they are easy to overlook while reviewing individual assets.
Verify the chosen aspect ratio and resolution. A higher-resolution export does not restore detail that was never generated or fix a poor crop. If a destination requires landscape, plan for that rather than simply stretching a portrait video. Keep your title, credits and any required licence acknowledgements accurate.
Inspect what you actually deliver
After exporting, open the downloaded file and check picture, sound, duration and captions. Playback in the editor and playback in a final file are separate checks. If the file seems incomplete, inspect export status and the saved project before starting expensive new generation work.
Keep the production or edit record and the relevant rights information for your release. Use the appropriate publishing workflow for public previews or Rush Watch; downloading a file does not automatically publish it. Where a service has upload size, format or duration requirements, use its current requirements rather than assuming every export is accepted.
Put it into practice
Make a delivery checklist for one film: picture, sound, captions, first and last frames, duration, ratio and rights. Apply it to the exported file when you choose to export.
- The delivered file contains the intended take and ending
- The settings and rights suit the intended release
